The b-it-bots team has participated in the RoboCup@Home league since 2007 and in the RoboCup@Work league since 2012. Previously, the team participated in the RoboCup Mid-Size Soccer league under the name AIS/BIT robots. The team consists of members of Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University (HBRS) and is primarily sponsored and supported by this University and the Bonn-Aachen International Center for Information Technology (B-IT).
Our team consists of one professor (Prof. Dr. Paul G. Plöger), six research associates, and several bachelor’s and master’s students. Most of the students are working on research projects that are an integral part of the Master of Autonomous Systems program; in particular, each student works on one specific scientific topic in robotics, such as navigation, visual servoing, face recognition and speech recognition, to name a few.
The @Home team works with Lucy, a Toyota HSR. For the @Work league, the robot platform is a KUKA youBot industrial robot. All research activities are integrated into one coherent system which is also one major focus within our research group.
Public code repositories
Most of the code we produce is available on GitHub.

A word of thanks to our sponsors
We gratefully acknowledge the continued support of the team by the President of the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University, the Department of Computer Science and the b-it Bonn-Aachen International Center for Information Technology.
